This policy explains what personal data TaskiPay Kenya Ltd. ("TaskiPay", "we", "us") collects from you, how we use it, and the rights you have under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. This page is maintained by TaskiPay Kenya Ltd. and reflects our current practices.

1. Who we are

TaskiPay Kenya Ltd. is a private limited company registered in Nairobi, Kenya. Our registered office is Westlands Office Park, Waiyaki Way, Nairobi. You can reach our data team at privacy@taskipay.co.ke.

2. What we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, phone number, county of residence and age range.
  • Profile information — optional demographic answers used to match you with relevant surveys.
  • Payout information — the M-Pesa number linked to your account (which must be registered in your name).
  • Usage data — which surveys you complete, timestamps, and technical logs required to keep the service secure.

3. How we use it

  • To run your account and match you with research studies you qualify for.
  • To pay you for completed surveys via M-Pesa.
  • To detect fraud, spam and duplicate accounts.
  • To respond to your support enquiries.

4. What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not share your identity with research partners — only anonymised, aggregated responses.
  • We do not send unsolicited marketing to third parties on your behalf.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and to measure aggregate site usage (for example, Google Analytics with IP-anonymisation enabled). You can control cookies via your browser settings. See our cookie policy for details.

6. Your rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@taskipay.co.ke.

7. Security

We store personal data on encrypted infrastructure and restrict access to authorised staff only. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and never share it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or on this page at least 14 days before they take effect.
